About this, Sahana Khan wrote on her Instagram account that there are many problems these days, one of which is an issue that needs to be fixed immediately. She said, “It’s not just about me, it’s about every young girl/boy who has grown up with a sense of inferiority for no reason”.

“I have heard from men and women since the age of 12 that I am ugly because of the color of my skin,” he wrote of his experience with color. Suhana writes that the sad thing is not only that such things were said by intelligent men and women but it is sad that they are Indians. And the skin color of Indians is similarly brown. She also uploads some ‘DM’ messages in her Instagram. Moreover, the hateful and ugly comments on Shah Rukh khan’s daughter said that Suhana’s skin tone was ‘too dark’ and called her ‘Ugly’, ‘too dark’, ‘Kaali Billi’ & ‘Kaali Chudail’.

Moreover, She said, “There’s a lot going on right now and this is one of the issues we need to fix!! this isn’t just about me, it’s about every young girl/boy who has grown up feeling inferior for absolutely no reason. Here are just a few of the comments made about my appearance. I’ve been told I’m ugly because of my skin tone, by full-grown men and women, since I was 12 years old. Other than the fact that these are actual adults, what’s sad is that we are all Indian, which automatically makes us brown – yes we come in different shades but no matter how much you try to distance yourself from the melanin, you just can’t. Hating on your own people just means that you are painfully insecure. I’m sorry if social media, Indian matchmaking or even your own families have convinced you, that if you’re not 5″7 and fair you’re not beautiful. I hope it helps to know that I’m 5″3 and brown and I am extremely happy about it and you should be too. #endcolourism”

She added that she sympathizes with everyone who has been reassured by social media, her family and TV shows like ‘Indian Matchmaking’ that she is not beautiful if she is not tall and not blonde and “I hope it helps you to know that I am 5.3 and my complexion is brown and I am very happy about that, and so should you.”
